If anyone is thinking of getting us something extravagant. . .
Might I suggest this: http://www.bulliondirect.com/catalog/lp/American_Eagle_Silver_Coins_US_Mint_Sealed_Crate_(500.00_oz).html. I can tell you sincerely, that would make quite the impression. :)

100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000?
No, sorry, its 300,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. Maybe. Its just an estimate after all, not like anybody went and counted. I wonder how many supernova happen every second on the universal scale. Probably a^lot

A quite literal addition to what I consider to be the stupidly named "Bucket List"
You have not lived my friend until you witness your daughter projectile vomit a gallon of her stomach onto the unfortunately closed lid of the toilet, spreading the resulting rays of bright sunshine all over the walls, shower curtain, floor, top-bottom-middle-and hardware of the toilet seat, back and lid of the toilet, and yes, somehow still also some in the bowl. Then, cleaning it after you get her settled down. Check, and check.

Last weekend
So, last weekend on Friday we drove down to Atlanta with Connie and Wanda, to pick up Cherry and Lonnie at the airport and go to the circuit assembly. Sydney got baptized on Saturday. Her mom and I are really happy for her and proud of her. Saturday night Lonnie and Wanda took Sydney out to dinner and Dee, Cherry, Connie, Bailey, Bryson and I went looking for some bbq. I almost took out the back of the restaurant with our van trying to execute a 42 point turn. Sunday night we drove home with Cherry, and Dee and the kids drove her back to the airport on Monday. So now we have to try to figure out and work in a trip to Florida to visit sometime early in 2011.

Masters of War - Bob Dylan
Come you masters of war
You that build the big guns
You that build the death planes
You that build all the bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks.
You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly.
Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain.
You fasten all the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion'
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud.
You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins.
How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
That even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do.
Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul.
And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand over your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead.
You that build the big guns
You that build the death planes
You that build all the bombs
You that hide behind walls

I don't know what to do.
What do you do when the person you've loved more than life for years on end makes you love them even more? How do I deal with knowing I can never repay her for who she is and that she loves me?
A tip for any that are interested.
If you can at all control it, I would recommend that you be in your home time zone when daylight savings time ends. It is way too confusing otherwise. I did find that this website was helpful: http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/cgi-bin/timer.pl

Grocery store music
Ok-so tell me, why don't they play Bach 'Tocatta and Fuge in D Minor' and its kind all the time instead of just at holiday? Instead I have to suffer through Captain and Teneal, Styx, and John Denver?

This is so sad. Not sad I guess. Nevermind, Yes, it's sad.
Sad from a personal point of view, because yes, yes it's true. I have in years past allowed myself to eat at McDonalds more than normal just because Monopoly was on. And yes. Yes, I know that its basically a lottery what with the astronomical (as in, US Federal Reserve accounting parlance and numbers, happens every 2.1 seconds) odds, it is truly a tax on people bad at math. But i've never claimed to be good at math. In fact every time it comes up, I heartily and readily admit that I suck at math, both in general and specifically.
So, I guess its not that sad, just really interesting that someone build this calculator. Using the STATED odds of the McDonald's Monopoly game ( 1 in 301,245,250 ) of winning a major prize, you can go to http://www.eatwithaspork.com/fun/bigmac/ and choose the prize you want from a drop down box. I chose the 2011 Shelby GT500, because it was the first I saw, it was the bottom of the list, and because it would be really awesome breaking the speed limit speeding around corners coming home from my part time job. This is what the calculation returned for me:
How many Big Mac® Sandwiches does it take to win in McDonald's® 2010 Monopoly® game?
(This may take a minute if you have terrible luck.)
Calculating based on your odds of 1 in 301,245,250...
Giving up after 10,000,000 sandwiches. You didn't win.
In your quest to win 2011 Shelby GT500 you:
Ingested 5,400,000,000 calories.
Consumed 290,000,000 grams of fat.
Inhaled 10,400,000,000 milligrams of sodium.
Took in 450,000,000 grams of carbohydrates.
Packed on 1,542,857.14 pounds.
You spent $37,300,000.00 trying to win a $48,645 prize.
If you would rather set your sights a little lower, be more reasonable perhaps and settle on finding what it would cost to win the $50 prize. Check this out, this is the result:
How many Big Mac® Sandwiches does it take to win in McDonald's® 2010 Monopoly® game?
(This may take a minute if you have terrible luck.)
Calculating based on your odds of 1 in 150,623...
You ate 63,474 Big Mac sandwiches to win: $50 Cash.
$50! Maybe you could buy a few more Big Macs and try and win the Redbox® rental!
Congratulations! On your road to glory you:
Ingested 34,275,960 calories.
Consumed 1,840,746 grams of fat.
Inhaled 66,012,960 milligrams of sodium.
Took in 2,856,330 grams of carbohydrates.
Packed on 9,793.13 pounds.
You spent $236,758.02 trying to win a $50 prize.
Please head on over to http://www.eatwithaspork.com/fun/bigmac/ and try it yourself. Choose your own prize, and glaze over at the big numbers that tell you to give up and don't eat at fricking McDonald's just because it's on with Monopoly. Give me a call and we can play Monopoly via xbox live instead.

isitraining.in
This is quite the cools. if you use the domain isitraining.in and use a / and then add where you want to query, such as isitraining.in/Chicago you get a page telling you yes or no, along with some brief weather info. To narrow it down, you can add additional location information as such: isitraining.in/syracuse-italy and isitraining.in/syracuse-ny.
right now, the server is hosed. so try at "<"datestamp">"+24:00:00

42
Ok, so the way binary works is that the first digit represents the value for 1. If its a 0 its 0 if its a 1 its one. Then each additional digit, the value doubles, allowing you to express any base 10 number as a series of 1s and 0s. So in binary, the number 10 = base10(02) because the second column is the 2s column and its "lit up" by being on with a 1 in it. The next column is the 4s column, then the 8 column, then the 16s column, etc. And you just add up what has 1s to translate from binary (base(2)) to base(10). So 11001100 = 204 because 128,64,8, and the 4s column have a 1 in them. Add it up and its 204. Todays date is 10/10/10. 101010 in binary = 42. Because 32, 8, and 2 are 1s, or "on". In 1979 Douglas Adams wrote "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy". In it a massive supercomputer, after 6 million years of computation, reckoned that the answer to "life, the niverse, and everything" was 42. A later book established that the actual question was "What do you get if you multiply Six by Nine," but that's a different story. So happy "Binary Day" and happy "42 day.". Today is the day I "least suspect" anything significant to happen, would be a funny twist if it did, eh?

=Irony
So season 4 episode 9 of Seinfeld - "the masseuse' Elaine is dating someone named after an infamous serial killer - enduring all kinds of ribbing from co-workers and embarrassment at a Giants game. She tries to covertly bring up a name change and suggests he change his name to 'O.J.'. The only only thing that would be worse is maybe changing your name to 'Peter File.'

Our little girl
Our first baby is getting baptized in November. Her mom and I are so proud and happy for her. In very related news, if you're interested in photos of me red faced and crying, circle November in your Franklin planner. Oh, and to specify, she's not a baby anymore.
Panic Attack
I really hate it when I'm walking through the store and I have a panic attack because I can't remember if I have pants on or not.

I love the fact that there were meetings to determine exactly how long this should be, and after deliberation, that the duration is 10:11. Any more, too much. Any less, it would not appeal to the target demographic.

Just the trees, Johnny.
We were watching Seinfeld Season 4 episode 1, when Kramer is in LA and there's a serial killer about. The stereotypical hard boiled cop gets asked if there were any witnesses to the latest murder and he replies tersely "Just the trees, Johnny." Then Bryson says "Just the trees Johnny." Dee and I laugh because the way he says Johnny is cute, so Bryson laughs too. Then he says it again. And. . .Again. Several dozen times. Then-because he doesn't feel well and is right on the edge of fever, he wakes up crying and in my transition from REM sleep I say, to try to comfort him, for whatever reason, "Just the trees, Johnny." Because it made him laugh so much earlier, not because I'm psychotic.

You may ask yourself, well, how did I get here.
so, if you typed in piratesarecool.com and got here, you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack.
I registered piratesarecool.com back in 1999. It was a time well before the multi million dollar disney movie franchise, after the puffy shirt episode, and was mostly a tribute to The Pirate Movie
which I had discovered at the video rental store that used to be across the street from us and had rented dozens of times to watch while I was home from school in middle school. Not really thinking much about the reality of the pirate lifestyle, more enamored with the rum soaked slacker floating around the Caribbean (or Australia). I had miscellaneous content hosted, some family pictures, some online storage, using the domain as my email and etc. I used it also to experement with dynamic xml pages with united states info, president of the united states info, and florida county census info. And hosting my rewritings of Shakespeare. But I havent really updated anything since, em, kinda like. . .2002 or so? So I decided to just take the 40 or so hits per month and shoot them over here. So hello. And. If the original pages are still indexed/saved, they will probably continue to work until I do something about it. That is. The heat death of the universe.

Friday night
We went over to our friends house tonight-they have a super terrific karaoke shack. Must remember not to eat beforehand next time. I sang "Yellow Submarine" with Bailey. She told me she sings it as "Lego Submarine." The Bailey sang with Secret and Trena -

Then Syd sang a song with Jamie -

And finally we persuaded Dee to get up and sing -

Sorry, they're from my phone, and I was 20 feet back. We had a great time though, hope to do it again.

So, were in GA now!
Hey ho! So, we moved January 3. And I managed to find a job-finally. Wow, the unemployment thing really hits the self-esteem hard, and with that and stress and miscellaneous other mental problems, I managed to put on almost 50 pounds since I worked with Fed-Ex. That doesn't help. So I'm starting to try the calorie control thing, and not eating after 7pm to take off some pounds and then once I get down around 300 so theres not as much stress on my knees and back i'm going to for the fourth time try to get regular doing Chalean Extreme. So, theres that.
