Wow, great article.

Do you have a passport? Do you know if someone has a copy? This is an article from over on engadget about a guy in san francisco rfid wardriving. If you dont know what wardriving is, its fun (i've only done wi-fi) and if you dont know what rfid is, you should find out.

John Locke. From Lost. The t.v. show.

Is now portrayed in cube-e bend your own paper form. Sweet!

For my friends and family.

I would like to state for the record that the google ads box on the left side of the screen put up an ad with the word "nipple" in it before I ever mentioned them or used them in a sentence. In fact, thats the first time i've used that word on this published work, and it will probably degenerate my ads further. For this, I apologize.

a nice and anon way to tell someone they should wash their hands after they use their bathroom and that they should keep their poop hands off your babies face for crying out loud don't make me slap it down mid-reach.

also, anon praise, but why? i dont know.

Yay! We're home.

Well, we've been home for a while. Still spaced out. and trying to take care off stuff from the van. so, last night dee and i saw a very funny movie, check it out its Its so completely amazing to me how movies with simon pegg have such good music. or maybe its movies set in london? or maybe just not set in the u.s.? but anyway, i liked the music in shawn of the dead, and i like the music in this movie too. its a pretty funny movie, good watch. so i got some pictures from rob and marleenes house in N.C., very nice.

Memphis is

So, not much other than on tweets, we're in Memphis. Thats cool. Its much colder here than at home, and that makes me happy. I need to remind myself not to be so much of a grouchy jerk, takes constant attention to detail :) I also have to remember to hold my arms at a 90 degree angle when I walk around so my hands dont get dog licked all the time. And it also takes a lot of effort to keep our family routines going when we are out of our own home. It's been an awesome trip so far, very pretty driving, lots of time with dee and the kids, getting stuff set up for the business, and spending time with the Denardos and Spears. As soon as I manage to get the camera in the same room as the computer, weve got some awesome pictures of the Denardo home in NC that I want to get some printed out and put in our tv room. I will have posters for sale via cafepress as well. Missing all our friends at home, but nice to visit with quinn and lonnie and wanda in person, not electronically. So, i'm done.

Twitter accounts hacked/social engineered

So, is it wrong that I link to this CNN article about the recent phishing and network tools attacks via Twitter just to try to get some spillover traffic. I don't think so, because I use twitter, and it might happen to me. So, any stupid, nonsensical, offensive posts via twitter, please attribute to an unnamed third party, not me.

The Day the Earth Stood Still

Ok, so not really a movie review so much. It was fun to watch, good times. Now, a listing of the things that stuck out to me as central themes. Its been forever since i've seen the original, at the time i think it was more fear of nuclear war based than fear of just generalized extinction based, but I digress.

These are the things that hit me as central pillars and ideas of the film:

Humans are bad. (until of course the visitor has a change of mind because of being around two people, while ignoring the other few billion and what they are doing.)

"Scientists" are generally good smart caring loving people who stand in the way of the "government" and "military", who are goofs. (i have no comment, i don't know any scientists, "government", or "military" , i only know people, and people in general by themselves want the same things as all other people from what i've seen)

Religious people will freak out if they had direct proof of alien life (I don't know, i thought a religious mindset is partially built on an understanding that we aren't alone, and/or that we don't/can't know everything) (again, i don't intend to moralize or speak for anyone else, it just struck me as a theme, and yes, i know its a commmmmmmmon theme.)

Humans as a group, not as individuals, at a point of great stress and a crossroads, will lift themselves up and rise above it. (I've really got an issue with that idea. order out of chaos.)

And there was something else, but I forgot, of course.

John Cleese was nice to see in a short, reserved appearance. Glad to see him still about, and surrounded by books in the movie, I'm sure he enjoyed that. Keanu did a good job as the detached observer character. Overall good fun, movie with Dee while Cherry watched the kids. And we finally got to use the movie gift card Cherry gave us back in August as an anniversary present :) Thanks! Our family loves Cherry, she's great. If you want her phone number, let me know. {joke}
