=why i've never been in this store up until now

So anyway, I'm looking for a job, and I've been putting out applications left and right, for whatever I can find: warehouse jobs, custodial and maintenance jobs, jobs in big electronic box stores, whatever, right? So Monday night at 8:29 pm I get a call from a number I don't know and I'm in the middle of something, so it goes to voicemail and my Google Talk transcription, which I now have my phone forwarded to. It's someone from an electronics store, not Best Buy, but the other one, you know that sounds like "HaichHaichGarayegg"

And this is a portion of the transcript of the voicemail: "Hey Andy, It's, Robert you applied for a warehouse position and set up interviews for tomorrow you're available. Gimme a call. The number here is (407) xx3-xxx1 your spot of for 10 AM. As of right now and that would be at 322 East Colonial drive, but either way. Gimme a call so I know if there'll be there. Thank you. "

But keep in mind, I also played it to listen too it right? So I figure "ok, I'll call him at like 9 tomorrow and let him know I'll be there." I get up and get ready and get on the road and call him. I go straight to an automated reply at that number saying the store is open from 10 till 9, call back when the store is open. So ok, I'll just show up and be there at 10, no big.

I get to E Colonial, which my GPS takes me to what seems like a valid address in an empty lot next to 310 E Colonial. Not what I was expecting, I was expecting some storefront, but its for a warehouse job, so maybe they have an offsite office that they do hiring out of or management or something, who am I to know? So ok, I walk into 310, just to ask, just in case like theres an office in the same building with the next address up, you know. And they have no idea. Its now 9:50. I call Dee and have her look up the address, and she describes it off of google maps sat view, I can see I'm where she's describing, but the addresses go from 310 to 400somthing right next door, with an empty lot between.

At this point I'm starting to chastise myself, telling myself I've fallen too easily into the trap of being suggestible, that maybe the transcription screwed up, and maybe he said "West Colonial" for real but I heard "East" because that was what was typed. So my gps also has what seems to be a valid address for 310 W Colonial. So I head there, and its in the approximate area of the on-ramp for West-bound I-4. I call Dee again, and she looks it up, and theres an "HaichHaichGarayegg" at "3332 East Colonial." So I start driving there. Its now 10, so I call the number to let them know I will be there in 5 minutes, and get through to a person and ask for "Robert, please." . . .

She says "Who?" "Robert." "Do you mean Richard?" "Um, no, he said his name was Robert." "We don't have a Robert" (Thinking to my self -"Just bail, I'll be there in 3 minutes anyway") "Ok, thank you."

So I call Dee back and ask her to please play the voicemail off of my computer, because there is no way this guy not only gave me the wrong address, but also gave me a name of someone that doesn't work here. After all, he gave me the right phone number, Google Talk MUST have screwed it up, and because I was reading one thing and hearing another, I must have filled in the blank mentally and made myself hear what was written. So Dee plays it. And I can hear it. And he said "322 E Colonial." And he said "Robert."

So I park in front of the store at 9:08 and go in. Someone greets me and congratulates me on being the first customer of the day in this store that is empty save for the 10 employees standing around. And I say "Robert gave me a call yesterday about a job in the warehouse and asked that I be here this morning at 10." "Do you mean Richard?" "No I'm pretty sure he said 'Robert'" "Well, we have a Richard" "Ok, yeah, may I please speak to Richard?" "Yeah, why don't you have a look around, he's running late this morning."

So I have a look around, and at 9:30 Richard asks me very politely who I had talked to and why I was here. I told him, and he had no clue. So I gave him my resume and left. And by the way, not trying to be mean or anything, but Best Buy has everything this store has and more. They didn't have much at all for computer components. They had a lot of appliances and some TVs and dvd/vhs tape combos and blu-ray players but no game hardware and software section, and no movie or music section that I could see. So you are supposed to go to a store to buy a TV and a blu-ray player, but that doesn't sell any blu-ray movies? I don't get it. And I probably don't need to go back into another HaichHaichGarayegg.
